Lyons Creek Local
We are a small farm business in Geary County, Kansas, specializing in fresh vegetables, raw honey, pecan butter, native live plants, and solid soap and haircare. We aim to reduce environmental impact by providing local products, sourcing local ingredients, reducing the use of plastic and promoting a healthy environment for all.
Raw Wildflower Honey
We are the beekeepers and managers of about 10 beehives located in Geary County, Kansas. Our harvest practice is minimal, no pasteurization or heat, which preserves the natural enzymes, nutrients, antioxidants, pollen and flavor. Raw honey will naturally crystallize over time.
You can find our honey at the Manhattan, Kansas Farmer's Market or have it shipped to any Kansas address. Honey should be available by mid June.
Did you know that one healthy beehive can produce 100 pounds of honey!
Ditch the Plastic
Make the switch to solid soap, shampoo, and conditioner bars. With minimal eco-friendly packaging and a smaller carbon footprint, bar soap is the sustainable choice for your daily routine. Feel good about what you're using and where it ends up, without compromising luxury and quality. Solid soap, shampoo, and conditioner bars are better for you and kinder to the earth.
SOAPS, HAIRCARE AND ACCESSORIES SHIP NATIONWIDE
Body Soap
Sunflower Soaps
Handcrafted right here in Kansas using locally sourced, skin-nourishing sunflower oil.
Top 3 reasons to switch to our handmade soap
1. Sustainability - Zero-waste compared to liquid body wash which contains 90% water and is packaged in a single-use plastic bottle that will outlive all of us.
2. Supporting local farms - Not only are we a small local farm ourselves, but we support other family farms in Kansas who grow and process the sunflower oil and the beeswax we use in our soaps.
3. Luxurious Ingredients - Thoughtfully formulated and themed soaps to bring happiness and joy to your everyday shower.
Haircare
Shampoo and Conditioner Bars
Top 3 reasons to switch to our solid haircare
1. It's REAL haircare, not soap! - These bars are formulated using gentle plant-derived surfactants that will leave your hair feeling soft, shiny and healthy. You don't have to worry about a straw-like feeling or waxy buildup.
2. Value and Sustainability - One single shampoo bar can replace 2-3 full plastic bottles and will last 60-80 washes, depending on your hair length.
3. Zero-Residue Conditioner - Unlike liquid conditioner that will coat your hair in heavy synthetic silicones, our conditioner rinses completely clean without a greasy residue, leaving your hair, lightweight, bouncy and hydrated.
Native Live Plants
We are passionate about helping the pollinators and growing native plants is a great way to do that. You can find our native plants at the Manhattan, Kansas Farmer's Market. Each year we try to offer a new selection. Come and check out what we have this year!
Let customers speak for us
from 25 reviewsBest soap! Been using it for years, hopefully many more. Great for gifts, everyone loves them!
My passion for products that are kind to both my body and the environment led me to Sunflower Soaps at my local farmer’s market, and I couldn’t be happier! Their entire soap collection is fantastic, but the lemon poppyseed variety is an absolute standout. The perfect balance of rich lather and gentle exfoliation makes every shower feel like a spa experience.
But here’s the real surprise—my husband, a combat soldier in the U.S. Army, is a HUGE fan! He may not admit it outright, but trust me, he never showers without it. If a tough soldier swears by it, you know it’s something special!
If you’re looking for a soap that smells amazing, feels incredible, and works for everyone, Sunflower Soaps is the way to go! 💛🛁✨
I love this soap! I love many of their scents, but this is one of my favorites. I’ve been using bar soap for a while to reduce my consumption of plastic, and I love that this soap only uses essential oils and natural ingredients. They smell so good, I don’t miss body wash! And they’re so pretty that they make a great gift.
My favorite honey from some of my favorite farmers. Love their knowledge of pollinators and how to keep them thriving. And if you ever get a chance to taste any of their jelly, grab em up quick!
Although I have used many of Lyons Creek Local's Sunflower Soaps and love them ALL, the Arctic - Salt Soap is my favorite. It has a very fresh clean scent and the soap bar has a subtle texture to it that gives a light exfoliation. Both the scent and the texture are not overpowering and are the perfect combination of ingredients to make my skin feel smooth and healthy.
Love love loved it. And that little black line in it.
All your soaps are great.
