Asparagus Time

I've been checking our asparagus patch every day for the last week, and nothing.  With the low temperatures in the forecast we have to make sure we pick anything that's emerged from the ground or it will freeze.  To my surprise and delight,  the whole patch decided today was the day, lucky us! 

Since tomorrow seems to be winters last stand,  I picked it all,  even the really short pieces, otherwise, it freezes and turns to mush.  Did I say,  ASPARAGUS!!!
