Eggs

Eggs

Our chickens are laying so many eggs!  We have a flock of about 15 hens, two roosters and two pet ducks. We let the girls live out their long lives after their egg production decreases, which is about age 3 depending on the breed of chicken.  For me, a dozen eggs is the most beautiful when the colors are variable, it adds a whole additional layer (no pun intended) to the experience with food.  Here's a photo of our white crested black polish chicken in her nest box.   She lays the small white eggs you'll find in one of our dozens.
